The Barn at the Gunderson Home Place

The barn at the Gunderson Home Place was built in 1904. It is 54 feet wide, 64 feet long, and 32 feet high. The Home Place is in an Iowa county that is losing population as fast as any in the state and has been uninhabited for several years. The Victorian house built in 1907 was torn down in 1990 with a big percentage of the materials recycled. The barn has been unused and in steady decline for the past several decades and also needs to be recycled. Fortunately, a man from Rolfe has begun to do the job.

Persons who wish to know more about the project or are interested in some of the lumber, can contact us. Most likely, the worker will re-use most of the lumber. But then again, some of it may be available for other people.
