I've had a couple servings of sugar peas, but now they have all been harvested. The plant is ready to be uprooted, chopped up, and deposited in the compost piles.

The herbs such as tarragon are doing quite well. The collards continue to be productive, and the zinnias are beginning to show buds.

I am baffled by how nature works. A seed becomes a plant, then a bud forms. The shape of the stem, leaves, and flower are factors of the genetics of the seed. The color and texture of the flower are also factors of the seed. A red zinnia will be a red zinnia ... not a pink hollihock.
